Maasai Mara (Masai Mara) is known as Africa’s Greatest Wildlife Reserve, situated in southwest Kenya. Famous for the abundance of lion, the Great Wildebeest Migration and the Maasai people, well known for their distinctive custom and dress, it is without a doubt one of Africa’s most famous safari destinations.

Maasai Mara National Reserve stretches 1,510 sq km (580 sq miles) and raises 1,500-2,170 meters above sea level. The terrain of the reserve is primarily grassland and riverine forest with clumps of the distinctive acacia trees. It’s about 270 km from the capital city Nairobi and takes about 5-6 hours by road or 40-45 minutes by flight.

Full Itinerary: 

Day 1: Nairobi / Maasai Mara Game Reserve

Upon arrival at JKIA, you will be met by our driver guide. After tour briefing, depart for Maasai Mara Game Reserve with a brief stopover at the Rift Valley View Point.  Proceed arriving in time for refreshments and lunch in the lodge / camp. After a short siesta, enjoy afternoon game drives in the reserve. Dinner and Overnight at lodge or camp. Meal Plan: Lunch and Dinner.

Day 2: Maasai Mara Game Reserve

After breakfast, collect your picnic lunch boxes and depart for a full day game drives. The reserve offers breathtaking sceneries seen in the film ‘Out of Africa as well as an extraordinary density of animals including the “Big Five” – (Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo, Lion, and Leopard) and many varieties of plains game. Maasai Mara has the largest population of wild animals. It is home to the awesome black-manned lion, the elusive leopard, stately giraffes, herds of elephants, rhino, buffaloes, thundering herds of zebra, migrating wildebeest and numerous other plains game. Day 3: Maasai Mara Game Reserve– Nairobi

Wake up for an early morning game drives. After breakfast, depart for Nairobi arriving for lunch at the renowned Carnivore Restaurant. After lunch, enjoy a free city excursion en route to the airport or city hotel. Meal Plan: Breakfast and lunch
